I love, love, love this film
It has b'witched me, body and soul.
To borrow 2 lines from Pride and Prejudice, starring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen. Visually sumptuous, it's a feast for the eyes. Besides the fact that Matthew Macfadyen is the perfect amalgam of Clive Owen & a young John Cusack, the English countryside really is a beautiful place when filmed on the right day. And the acting, particularly by the leads, was spot-on throughout. All the elements came together to bring Jane Austen's story alive, so much so that I watched it twice this weekend and had to remind myself that it was fiction at the end. Even though the movie didn't take any Oscars last night, it's hands-down my pick for 2005.
