Life is like going over the Goethals Bridge to Staten Island

Well my life, that is. We hit major traffic going home on the Turnpike today (a preview of what's to come tomorrow, the most heavily traveled day of the year?), so our trusty driver Raman decides to get off at Exit 13. As we're riding down the ramp, we get a clear view of the accident, which is only another mile down the road. (Doh!) Before we know it, Governor Pataki is welcoming us to the State of New York, and we're in Staten Island. Surreal.

Last weekend, I went back to Yale for the Game against Harvard. As I told Geiosee Froggie, it was a bittersweet experience for me. I got to see a lot of alums from my year and the years that've graduated since, ppl I wished I'd gotten to know better had it not been for the major detour I took during my junior year in college. But just like in driving, you can't move forward if you're constantly looking in the rearview mirror. I've been doing a lot of that lately, and it's been getting me down. At the same time, reuniting with college classmates, many of whom were in fellowship, has given me the impetus to reexamine my Christian faith. I don't know what lies down the road, but come what may, I'm determined to move forward.
