Yesterday GeioseeFroggie & I went out to do errands. By the time we got to the Golden East Garden Restaurant in the Midstate Mall on Route 18, a torrential downpour had turned the parking lot into a mini lake. When we opened the car door, there were 8 inches of water on the ground! G.F. & I waded through the parking lot, but we might as well have been at the seashore. Little wavelets were lapping @ our legs. "Ack, here comes another one!"

The restaurant was such a refreshing experience after all the mediocre Chinese places I've been to in this area. In fact, it's been voted "Best in Central Jersey" by the Home News Tribune for 5 years running. The noodles on the table had been fried that day, and the duck sauce was homemade. G.F. got the sweet & sour chicken and I got the beef & broccoli. It was delicious.

The rain died down by the time we got out. We headed back to her place, where we popped in American Psycho and watched Christian Bale slice & dice his way through New York society, both high & low, for an hour & a half. Only after going through the bonus materials did we learn that it's a satire of upper crust New York in the 1980's. It reminded me of David Lynch's portrayal of Hollywood in Mulholland Drive, but more accessible.

And then we just sat around chewing the fat & watching TV until I had to go at 9:30. I learned what Texas Hold 'Em Poker is all about.

Gosh, I'm gonna miss these times after GeioseeFroggie goes to Japan. When I look at Lolli, I sorta know how he feels. But it can't be helped, and isn't it always the way, that you don't appreciate what you have until it's gone?
